DOMENIILE FRANCO-ROMANE

Domeniile Franco-Române (DFR) was founded by Denis Thomas, a Burgundy-based owner and winemaker, with the vision of creating Romanian wines with a French touch. Romania’s first organic wine was produced in 2006.
Today, under the ownership of the Olariu family, the winery has expanded through the “Domeniile Persu-Eminescu” vineyards, which have belonged since the 1840s to the ancestors of Mihnea Olariu: Alexandru Persu, an agronomist engineer and respected mayor of the village of Tohani, and Ecaterina Eminescu, the niece of the poet Mihai Eminescu.
Today, Domeniile Franco-Române stands for organic wines with a Romanian soul and French elegance, wines that tell the story of a vineyard built on respect for nature, tradition, and people.
